Chelsea and Arsenal meet this week in a London derby which highlights the stark contrast in each team’s season.

The Blues, fresh from beating champions-elect Manchester City, look on course to finish in the top four as they prepare for the FA Cup Final and Champions League Final, having sacked former player Frank Lampard and replaced him with Thomas Tuchel to much success.

Arsenal, meanwhile, under their own ex-player, look on course to endure their worst season in a generation as manager Mikel Arteta faces a summer of questions over his future. A derby win for Wednesday’s visitors would be a rare bright spot in an otherwise dire season.

Chelsea vs Arsenal is scheduled for an 8:15pm BST kick-off on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

The match will be held behind closed doors at Stamford Bridge.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal

Arsenal looked somewhat comfortable on Sunday as they relegated West Brom but still completely panicked when put under even a slight bit of pressure. That doesn’t bode well for a trip to Chelsea, the Premier League’s form team alongside Manchester United.

I can’t see the Gunners making Chelsea sweat much, this should be a routine home win.

Ademola AKINBOLA is an author, publisher, trainer, digital marketing strategist, and a brand development specialist with nearly three decades of experience in the areas of branding, communication, corporate reputation management, business development, organizational change management, and digital marketing.
