Popular Nigerian singer Burna Boy and Colombian music superstar Shakira delivered a show-stopping performance at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, captivating millions of viewers around the world.
The historic event took place on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the iconic Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, where the two global stars performed “Dai Dai,” the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, for the first time live.
Shakira kicked off the highly anticipated performance in a vibrant yellow mesh bodysuit, commanding the stage with her signature energy before being joined midway by Burna Boy, who appeared in a coordinated denim outfit.

The duo performed on a massive turquoise-and-yellow flag spread across the pitch, emblazoned with the words “We Are Ready.” Their electrifying fusion of Latin pop and Afrobeats thrilled fans inside the stadium and those watching worldwide.

The star-studded pre-match show also featured performances from renowned artists including Maná, J Balvin, Danny Ocean, Los Ángeles Azules, and Belinda, who helped showcase the rich diversity of Latin and international music.
Classical music icon Andrea Bocelli and singer EJAE also took to the field to perform “DNA,” another official song from the 2026 FIFA World Cup soundtrack.
