Bandits have released a video of a pregnant student abducted from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State, Daily Trust reports.

The victim was abducted alongside 38 other students back in March, 2021.

Between 5th-8th April, bandits released 10 of the abducted students, leaving 29 of them in captivity.

Recall that the kidnappers had initially demanded half a billion naira as ransom from government.

However, Governor Nasir El-Rufai has taken a firm stance against ransom and amnesty, which made the bandits attempt to interface with family members directly.

Now, it has been reported that a five-minute long video shot in an unknown location showed the kidnapped students pleading for rescue.

According to her, they have been with the bandits for a total of 48 days now.

“We are appealing to our parents to help us, we are tired and there is no food. They should do their best to get us out of this place. We have spent 47 days, almost all of us are ill and there is no food. We sleep in the open even when it rains,” she said.

The bandits also introduced a woman they addressed as the wife of a military officer who was abducted from her home in Tirkania-Agwa in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to the victim, her husband is a naval officer working in Warri, Delta State. The woman also urged the Federal Government to come to their rescue, saying that the bandits had earlier requested for N30million for their release.
