The All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned aspirants who lost the party’s primary elections to stop presenting themselves as its candidates for the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the party said only candidates whose names had been submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were recognised as the APC’s official flag bearers for the elections.

According to the party, its national secretariat has already uploaded the names of its three senatorial candidates and 14 House of Representatives candidates from Oyo State to the INEC portal in compliance with the Electoral Act. The APC further stated that the process was completed with the successful submission of the candidates’ nomination forms at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja. The party named Senator Yunus Akintunde as its candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District, Aderemi Oseni for Oyo South, and Mrs Hannah Ogunesan for Oyo North.

For the House of Representatives, the APC listed Akeem Adeyemi for Afijio/Atiba/Oyo East/Oyo West Federal Constituency, Segun Odebunmi for Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere, and Tajudeen Abisodun Kareem for Atisbo/Saki East/Saki West. Other candidates announced by the party include Akin Alabi (Egbeda/Ona-Ara), Olafisoye Akinmoyede (Akinyele/Lagelu), Folake Olunloyo-Oshinowo (Ibadan North West/Ibadan South West), Tolulope Akande-Shadipe (Oluyole), Olamijuwon Alao-Akala (Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire), Olatubosun Oladele (Irepo/Olorunsogo/Oorelope), Umar Farouk Alao (Ibadan North), Ibrahim Iyiola (Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East), and Sarafa Olaoniye for Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North Federal Constituency. The party stressed that the candidates whose names were submitted to INEC remain the only officially recognised APC candidates in Oyo State, urging all aggrieved aspirants to respect the outcome of the party’s primary elections and refrain from creating confusion by falsely claiming the party’s ticket.
