Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji Gets 4th Substantive Registrar

The Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, has welcomed the institution’s fourth substantive registrar, Mr Joseph Adebayo Fadeji. The reception, which was held at the school’s 1,500-capacity Multipurpose Auditorium, attracted dignitaries from within and outside the institution, including members of management, deans, directors, heads of departments, divisions and units, registry staff, family members of the new registrar, as well as well-wishers from the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Osun State.

In a statement by the deputy registrar, Information, Protocol & Passages, Sanmi Enigbokan, said the rector, Dr Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku, who was represented by the deputy rector, Dr Samson Adehuga Omogbehin, described the occasion as the beginning of a new chapter and an opportunity for the school to extend its hands of fellowship, goodwill and support to the new registrar, Mr Joseph Adebayo Fadeji.

He encouraged the new registrar to deploy his wealth of experience and expertise towards achieving the Institution’s collective objective and building a stronger, more effective, innovative, and respected Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji.

While recognising the weight of responsibility that comes with the office of the Registrar, the rector stressed the importance of teamwork and collective commitment to achieving the Institution’s goals. He expressed confidence in Mr Fadeji’s wealth of experience, administrative competence, professionalism and commitment to service, noting that these qualities would enable him to make meaningful contributions to the continued growth and development of the Institution.

The rector also assured the new Registrar of Management’s support and cooperation, while calling on members of staff to extend the necessary cooperation and support to him for the successful discharge of his responsibilities.

Responding, Mr Fadeji expressed his appreciation to the Governing Council for his appointment and to the Management, Staff and Students of the Polytechnic for the warm reception accorded him. He pledged to contribute his quota to the continued progress and development of the Institution.

Adebayo, who was born on October 8, 1969, in Fiditi, Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State, holds a Teachers’ Grade II Certificate from the Local Authority Teachers’ College, Iseyin, an NCE from St Andrew’s College of Education, Oyo, and a Bachelor of Arts in Education in English from the University of Ilorin. He also obtained a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Science in Public Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in 2021 and 2024 respectively.

The new Registrar is a member of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Management, while he is also a Chartered Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

He has 25 years of administrative experience in the polytechnic system, having started his career at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, in 2001 as an Administrative Officer II in the Registry Department. He subsequently rose through the ranks, serving as Administrative Officer I, Assistant Registrar, Senior Assistant Registrar, Principal Assistant Registrar and Deputy Registrar.

As Deputy Registrar, Adebayo has worked in several units and directorates of the institution, including Personnel Affairs, Board of Studies, General Administration, and the Directorate of Media, Public Relations and Protocol. He has also served as chairman, secretary and member of several institution-based committees and participated in numerous conferences, workshops and professional development programmes. He has co-authored four scholarly publications.

A statement issued by the Polytechnic and signed electronically by the Deputy Registrar, Information, Protocol and Passages, Sanmi Enigbokan, congratulated Adebayo on his appointment. The institution described the appointment as a significant development and wished the incoming Registrar a peaceful, rewarding and successful tenure.
