‎The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has stated that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar currently has a strong chance of becoming Nigeria’s next president in 2027.

‎Speaking during a church service on Sunday, the popular cleric shared his views on the political situation ahead of the next general election, according to him, Atiku is in a favourable position, but several factors could affect his chances if he continues with what he described as a calm and gentle political approach.

‎Primate Ayodele noted that the political environment ahead of the 2027 election is expected to be highly competitive, he said President Bola Tinubu remains a strong political force and is likely to do everything within his power to retain support and strengthen his position before the next election.

‎Speaking further, the church leader claimed that many voters in Northern Nigeria are currently leaning towards Atiku, he said there is growing political unity among northern stakeholders who are interested in supporting the former vice president in the next presidential race.

‎According to Ayodele, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is aware of the political challenges it may face in the North, he predicted that the party would likely embark on reconciliation efforts and political consultations aimed at rebuilding trust and winning back support from the region before the election.

‎“The Presidency is already in Atiku’s hand but a lot of circumstances will stop him if he continues to play gentlemanly politics because Tinubu is very desperate. Desperate than Peter Obi, Nigerians and even the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,” he said.
