Former Senate Leader and one of the governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 election in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin, alongside former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, on Thursday held a closed-door meeting at an undisclosed location to discuss the way forward for the party in the state.

Also in attendance were the former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, and other notable party leaders from the 33 local government areas of the state.

The PUNCH reports that the convener of the meeting, Folarin, has not been attending APC meetings since the emergence of Senator Sharafadeen Alli as the party’s governorship candidate in the state.

However, an APC stalwart privy to the meeting told our correspondent in Ibadan that, “The leaders discussed strategies for working with other stakeholders of APC to strengthen the party’s structure and deliver Oyo for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.”

It would be recalled that there were protests by various groups over the emergence of some candidates for elective positions under the APC for the 2027 elections.

This development led to the setting up of the Senator Femi Lanlehin and Prof. Taoreed Adedoja Reconciliation Committee by the party leadership.

The duo, while speaking during the inauguration, assured party members that all concerns and complaints raised by some stakeholders would be addressed to place the party in a strong position to win the general elections next year. They also assured members that “No aggrieved aspirant would be left behind in the current reconciliation efforts.”

The state party chairman, Moses Adeyemo, charged members of the committee to use their goodwill, wisdom and wealth of experience to resolve all grievances that might have arisen from the party’s congresses and primaries, with a view to ensuring that the APC approaches the forthcoming polls as a strong, united and virile family of progressives.

Other members of the Reconciliation Committee include Senator Brimo Yusuf, Chief Akin Oke, Senator Hosea Agboola, Mrs Kemi Alao-Akala, Hon. Niran Alarape, Hon. Olagunju Ojo, Dr Adebayo Adewusi, Pa Timothy Jolaoso, Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi, Engr. Idris Adeoye, Alhaji Isiaka Alimi, Aare Abisoye Fagade, Dr Adekemi Opatunde, Engr. Dayo Lawal, Chief Goke Oyetunji, Alhaji Mufutau Adisa, Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe and Mrs Mabel Williams, among others.
