Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is still very focused on and committed to the task of supporting President Muhammadu Buhari in the task of selflessly Nigerians and delivering the dividends of democracy, his spokesman Laolu Akande said in Abuja yesterday.

According to Akande, Prof Osinbajo will soon declare his stance on the 2023 presidential contest, amid speculations that some Yoruba elders are reaching out to him in order to convince him not to lock horns with his political mentor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Akande spoke while responding to questions from State House correspondents on Tuesday. He said the Vice President is currently committed to his job of working with President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Well, like he has said up to this time, he is committed to the work that he is elected as Vice President and to support the President.“That is what he is focused on now; and like I have also said in my last tweet, whatever will be his activities or whatever he would do will be communicated officially soon,” he said.
