Women in Mining Nigeria Holds High Level Policy Dialogue Series

A High-level Policy Dialogue Series is currently ongoing in Taraba State. The event, scheduled for July 6th and 7th 2022, is part of activities of Women in Mining in Nigeria (WIMIN) towards mainstreaming women in the Mining sector. Organised by Women in Mining Nigeria in collaboration with Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA)

At the opening were crucial stakeholders in the sector, including Mrs Grace Danladi, a Director at the Ministry of Women Affairs, Taraba State; Mr Agyo Daniel, the Taraba State Coordinator of NESREA; Hon. Beatrice Audu, a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Solid Minerals.

Mr. Bishin Mohammed, Chairman, Miners Association of Nigeria, Taraba State Chapter, and Mr Apwenum Herod Shamak, Coordinator of the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Taraba State, among other notable stakeholders. Also at the engagement were representatives of the traditional council in the state.

Officials and members of @Wimnigeria at state and national levels, along with players across the Mining Value Chain. The aim is to ensure the efforts of women in the sector become more visible, while also ensuring their potentials are fully realised for socioeconomic benefits.
