Gunmen have abducted a woman simply identified as Chinwe and her seven-year-old daughter, Oluebube, in Aba, Abia State.

Efforts to reach the family and police spokesman Geoffrey Ogbonna for comments were unsuccessful.

But a police source said the abductees have been rescued and three suspects arrested.

The source said the two victims were rescued at neighbouring Eberi Omuma in Rivers State, adding that most robbery and kidnap activities in Abia and its environs were linked to the group.

The three suspects arrested were identified as Uba Nweke, 28, Daniel Chilaka, 29, and Peter Jumbo, 30, all indigenes of Eberi Omuma.
