Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, on Saturday led his political allies, especially members of the former G5 Governors to meet President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This seems an indication that political realignment with key opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general elections is underway.
The meeting was held at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

It would be recalled that in 2023, the G5 Governors, led by Wike, then the outgoing governor of Rivers State, worked against the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and supported Tinubu, who was then the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
After the polls, Tinubu appointed Wike, a member of the PDP, as the Minister of FCT in August 2023.
Present at the meeting was a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, and two members of the defunct G5 – former governors of Benue and Abia States, Samuel Ortom and Okezie Ikpeazu, respectively.
