Noimat Omobola Akinreti, Wife of the former Chairman of the Lagos Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Dr. Qosim Akinreti has passed on.
She died on Saturday morning 1 November 2025.
News of her death was shared on the Nigerian Guild of Editors chat group by Akinreti who is the Voice of Nigeria Head of Digital Media.
As at the time of this report, Akinreti’s associates were said to be at the cemetry where the wife’s remains were to be interred according to Islamic rites.
This death is coming barely a week after the sudden death of the wife of another prominent journalist and former Editor at ThisDay and former Commissioner for Information in Ogun State, Alhaji Yusuf Olaniyonu. May the souls of departed find eternal rest.
