Why I Haven’t Remarried — Actress Damilola Adegbite

Nigerian actress Damilola Adegbite has shared reasons behind her decision not to remarry following the end of her first marriage, explaining that her focus remains on raising her child.

In a video posted on Instagram, the film star said that her outlook on relationships has changed, especially as a single mother who must consider her child’s future when making personal decisions.

“I was having a conversation with a friend of mine, and they asked me a very important question. They asked me why I haven’t remarried after my first marriage,” she said.

She noted that her role as a mother requires her to think beyond personal feelings when choosing a partner.

“If you are a single mother or raising a child on your own, your decision-making has to be different. You are not just choosing a partner for yourself anymore, you are choosing a second parent for your child.

“There is a deeper question — do they have the morals, the values, the character that I would like my child to grow up around?

“You have to be sure that the person you are bringing into your life is capable of being a good parent — someone who would treat your child like theirs.

“You are not just building a relationship, you are building a home. Choose wisely, not just for you, but for the life you are creating for your children.”

Reports shows that the actress was previously engaged to Chris Attoh after meeting on the set of Tinsel. The couple welcomed a son, Brian, before their relationship eventually ended in 2017.
