A veteran radio broadcaster, Bowale Itiola who retired from the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC) after meritorious service has passed on, on the early hours of Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the age of 74.

Penpushing reports that the deceased while in service brought professionalism and quality into the news and newspapers review presentation particularly the Yoruba version of newspapers review, known as ‘Koko Inu Iwe-Iroyin’

The programme segment brought him to lime light, as well as fame and also became a household name in the media industry across the globe, and earned a nickname, ’Koko’, which became his trademark

Penpushing further reports that the second child of Itiola, Mrs Oluwakemi Ahmed confirmed the death to Penpushing Media on Wednesday morning, adding that he (Itiola) died at a private hospital in Abeokuta.

The bereaved daughter explained that the ace broadcast journalist had been on admission for few days receiving treatment for old age-related ailment, when he eventually gave up the ghost at about 2am on Tuesday

Penpushing also reports that the daughter explained that as at the time of filing this report the remains had been deposited at a private morgue, adding that the family will meet on the burial arrangements to be made public later
