Nigerian music superstar, Tiwa Savage, is officially back.
The singer-songwriter released her highly anticipated new album, This One Is Personal, on Friday, ending a five-year hiatus from full-length projects.
“This project is so close to my heart, and I poured every part of me into it.
“I just pray you receive it with the same love I created it with. Please cherish it, because #ThisOneIsPersonal,” Savage tweeted, revealing the 15-track project that explores themes of pain, growth, and resilience.
Recorded across Nashville, London, and Lagos, the album showcases a deeply intimate Afrobeats sound, featuring a few select collaborations.
UK rapper, Skepta, appears on On the Low, rising star Taves features on Addicted, and Grammy-nominated James Fauntleroy joins her on Change.
On Tuesday, during a fan Q&A on X, Savage explained, “I wanted you all to feel me in every song. The few features I chose were very intentional, with people who understood the vision and could add to the message without taking away from its intimacy. It’s less about numbers and more about connection.”
Executive producers on the album are Tiwatops Savage, Vannessa AmadI-Ogbonna, and MystroSugar, with A&R by Kolawole Omoboriowo/ Sak Pase.
Fans worldwide have already taken to social media, using the hashtag #ThisOneIsPersonal to celebrate Savage’s return and engage with the singer about the stories behind each track.
