All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu has promised to intervene in the face-off between the Federal Government and university teachers.

Tinubu made this known when he met with the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Osogbo, the Osun State capital yesterday.

He told the NANS leaders that he decided to intervene following President Muhammadu Buhari’s appeal to well-meaning Nigerians to plead with ASUU and its members to call off the strike.

The APC standard bearer and former Lagos State governor said: “We were trying to find—even if it is a back door, a way of reaching them (ASSU leaders).

“I am assuring you, we are not going to use the back door because our leader too (Buhari) has shown his lamentation in the last 48 hours and as a result of that, he has left the door open for our intervention.”
