President Bola Tinubu has invited the organised labour to a meeting at the Aso villa on Thursday to agree on a new minimum wage, sources close to the issue disclosed in Abuja on Wednesday.
According to a source in organised labour, Tinubu is willing to settle the lingering talks on minimum wage on Thursday and has invited the joint union presidents to a meeting.
However, Organised Labour and presidency sources are yet to confirm this.
The Federal Executive Council FEC had at its last meeting said it stepped down the Minimum Wage discussions to allow the President to embark on wider consultation.
A Labour leader who spoke on condition of anonymity refused to give further details about the meeting venue and time.
” All I can say now is that the President has invited us for discussions”
When pressed further, our source simply said “The time and venue will be revealed later, but the meeting will take place very soon”.
