The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed that the newly renovated Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja generated N650 million in revenue just three weeks after it was commissioned.

Wike made the disclosure during a media parley held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, in Abuja. He stated that the conference centre, which was previously yielding only N50 million annually to the FCT, has now become a revenue-generating hub following its N39 billion facelift under the current administration.

“Let me tell you how this country works. The man they gave the conference centre to was paying N50 million to the FCT every year,” Wike said.

“That place was commissioned on June 10, and the revenue made within three weeks was N650 million. Why? People love good things.”

The minister also highlighted the growing demand for the facility, noting that it has already been fully booked through to 2027.

“The president hosted the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) heads of state in that international conference centre. Go and see the comments from ambassadors. People are rushing that place now. In fact, there’s no space,” he added.

The Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre is now positioned as a major hub for diplomatic and high-level events in the nation’s capital.
