A High Court sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has sentenced Oluwatimileyin Ajayi to death by hanging for the brutal killing of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Salome Adaidu.
In the ruling delivered on Thursday, Justice Simon Aboki found Ajayi guilty of culpable homicide, stating that he intentionally killed and dismembered the victim.
Ajayi was convicted on a one-count charge of culpable homicide, in violation of Section 221 of the Penal Code applicable in Northern Nigeria, which carries the death penalty.
