Three US Soldiers Killed, Many Wounded in Iran Operation

The United States military says three of its soldiers have been killed and five others “seriously wounded” in the operation against Iran.

The US central command announced the casualties in a statement issued on X on Sunday.

“Three US service members have been killed in action and five are seriously wounded as part of Operation Epic Fury,” the statement reads.

“Several others sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions — and are in the process of being returned to duty. Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing.”

US troops also bombed an Iranian warship in the Gulf of Oman.

“The ship is currently sinking to the bottom of the Gulf of Oman at a Chah Bahar pier,” the US military said. 

On Saturday, the US and Israel executed a joint military strikes on multiple Iranian cities, killing Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, and top military commanders.

Khamenei’s daughter, grandchild, daughter-in-law and son-in-law were also killed in the military operation.

Israeli authorities described the operation as a pre-emptive move aimed at degrading Iran’s offensive capabilities.

Iran subsequently retaliated by launching drones and missiles towards Israeli territory.

The Arab country also launched reprisal attacks on US military bases across the Middle East.
