A Nigerian lady has shared a disturbing experience she faced at an international airport upon returning from abroad.
What was meant to be a routine arrival quickly turned into an unsettling encounter with strangers who claimed to know her from social media.
After a series of flight delays, she called her driver, who arrived at the airport.

Everything seemed normal until she noticed that some men around the arrivals area appeared familiar with the driver and began approaching her.
“They said they knew me from social media and greeted me. One of them carried my box, but I told him no because there is no free help in Nigeria
“Somehow, we got to where the car was parked, and immediately I wanted to sit down, one of them held my handbag and said, ‘Do something for us now.” she said.

The situation escalated quickly as the men reportedly surrounded the vehicle, blocking both sides, while the driver appeared to stall and pretended not to notice what was happening.
She said she tried to defuse the situation by offering ₦5,000, but the men rejected the money and demanded foreign currency instead.
“The man was holding my bag and looking inside. He was pointing at my pocket saying, ‘Mama, see dollar there. Mama, see.’ They collected 100 yuan and about 1,500 Mauritian rupees. They said they don’t take naira,” she narrated.
Her story has since sparked outrage online, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences at airports across the country.
One commenter wrote, “This is exactly why I panic anytime I land in Nigeria. Another added, “How can people be begging and still be choosing currency? This is embarrassing.”
