The Life and Times of Taiwo Hassan “Ogogo”

Taiwo Babatunde Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was born on October 31, 1959, in Ilaro, Ogun State, Nigeria. He has a twin brother, and his family has a history of twins. His father and grandfather were both twins. He was a Nigerian actor, filmmaker, producer and director known for his work in the Yoruba-language film industry.

Education
Taiwo completed primary education at Christ Church School in Ilaro. He attended Gazikia College in Lagos for secondary school but could not finish due to financial problems. He then studied at a technical college and worked as an automobile mechanic at Water Corporation for about 13 years.
Career
He began his acting career in 1981, shortly after starting work as a mechanic. In 1994, he left his job at the Water Corporation to concentrate on acting.
Death
Hassan died on 23 August 2026, at the age of 66, after battling cancer.] His daughter, Kira Taiwo, confirmed his death during an Instagram Live session on the same day. He had been diagnosed with stage-four cancer, and his daughters had appealed publicly for medical assistance earlier in August 2026. His death came five days after his family had dismissed reports that he had died, describing the earlier reports as false.
