You’re shocked that a career politician in opposition is present at a political protest? In Nigeria? After everything we’ve seen?
When Peter Obi joined ADC, did you suddenly think the party was run by angels? You didn’t know that the same political class you claim to hate already exists inside every party structure?
Are you people normal?

There is no political party in Nigeria that is empty of old actors. None. Not APC. Not PDP. Not LP. Not ADC. Politics here is not a convent. It is a system crowded with people who have been around for decades, with networks, baggage, and interests. The idea that you can build a viable political movement by pretending these people don’t exist or by acting shocked every time one appears in public is childish.
You cannot say you want “structure” and then panic when you see the people who actually understand how structures work. You cannot shout about coalition-building and then collapse into hysteria the moment uncomfortable alliances show up. Politics is not a purity contest. It never has been. It is negotiation, leverage, timing, and numbers.
Also protests don’t suddenly become invalid because a politician attends. If that were the case, half of Nigeria’s political history would be erased. Protests are about issues, not the moral cleanliness of every person present. If the demands are valid, they remain valid whether Amaechi, Obi, or anybody else is standing there.
This habit of treating politics like a fan club where you want your preferred candidate isolated from everyone you dislike is part of why people stay confused. You want power without contamination. Change without compromise. Impact without proximity to the system you’re trying to change.
When Obi joined ADC, he did not enter a vacuum. He entered a party with existing players, interests, and contradictions. That is how politics works. Even in your “saner climates “. The question is not , who else is in the room . The question is what is being negotiated, who has leverage, and what outcome is being pursued.
Nigeria does not need more political pearl-clutching. It needs people who understand that power is built by engaging reality as it is not by screaming every time reality fails a purity test.
And if you wanted only candidates that remind of you Obi then maybe you should have focused on grooming, pipelining and funding them into power!!!
Next outrage, please!
