A traditional ruler, Oba Kehinde Falodun, the Alagamo of Agamo community, has been reportedly murdered by suspected gunmen in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Community sources disclosed that the incident occurred on Wednesday evening when a large group of armed men invaded the monarch’s palace in what was believed to be a planned kidnapping operation.

According to a family member, the attackers initially attempted to abduct the royal father but met resistance from him, leading to a violent confrontation inside the palace premises.

The assailants were said to have fired multiple gunshots at the monarch, but when the attempt failed, they allegedly resorted to physically assaulting him.

He was reportedly struck on the head with a weapon, an attack that proved fatal.
