Nnadozie ranked ahead of only Daphne van Domselaar among the five goalkeepers nominated for the prize.

The 2025 Yachine award for women’s best goalkeeper is the first instalment of the prize. Nnadozie is also the first African to be nominated for the award.

Nnadozie was the goalkeeper for the Super Falcons of Nigeria as the team won their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco.

She was named the best goalkeeper of the WAFCON tourney after keeping clean sheets in four of Nigeria’s six matches.

She has been a consistent performer for the Falcons, winning the CAF women’s goalkeeper of the year twice.
