Success is living a purpose-driven life, says Ayo Arowojolu, foremost PR professional @55

Living a purpose-driven life, being content with one’s attainments in this world and having goodwill to all men are the key determinants of fulfilment for any individual.

This formed the plank of insights during a meditative session by an accomplished Public Relations professional, Mr Ayo Arowojolu who turns 55 today Monday May 9, 2022.

Arowojolu, the Okitipupa born media professional with multi-varied work experience spanning over 32 years is currently Head, Chrisland University, Abeokuta.

He is on loan on sabbatical for one year from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).

Reflecting on his 55 years sojourn on earth, he said the only way to avoid joining the rat race of competition with others is to realize that the life of a child of God cannot be defined by worldly standards but by understanding that everyone is called to purpose.

Arowojolu who is also a pastor says: “A successful life is not defined by material things. A successful life is defined by God’s purpose for an individual. A product is only successful to the extent to which it fulfils the purpose for its existence. Success is purpose determined and success is the progressive pursuit and attainment of God’s ordained purpose for an individual.

“If you look at Jeremiah 1:5 – 7 and also Jeremiah 29: 11, our Creator has a thought concerning us, great thoughts, wonderful thoughts of peace and also an expected end in focus.

“God created us for a purpose. Walking in tandem with that purpose is what brings fulfillment

“Over the years, I have found out that I have a divine purpose around connecting people to their joy. It is for this reason, I see myself networking and helping others to succeed. Life must not be devoted to seeking only my own good but also the good of the larger others. The more I live for others, the more joy that well up within me.

“In finding fulfilment in life, it therefore means I must be intentional and deliberate and must keep walking intimately with the Author and Finisher of my faith who calls in the first place.

“God has designed a role for me in life and the only responsibility I have is to fit into that role and keep at it till we arrive at that Expected End.

“I have also reflected deeply over the years that I am born for battles. God has been faithful to always open great doors but I found out the adversaries have been countless. However, do you know what? The victories have been amazingly sure!

“The challenges have been certainly daunting but my God has always showed up at the nick of time. He is my Ever Present Help in the times of trouble.

“Finally, I have always leant to be content with His munificence and the little attainments. I don’t ever envy anyone and I have compassion on those that are a bit on the rough side of life. I do my best to uplift them. I fear God. I respect the brotherhood in Christ and I generally honour all men”.
