The Senate on Tuesday, urged the Federal Government to immortalise the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru (retd.).

The red chamber also observed a one minute silence in honour of the deceased.

This followed a point of order raised by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Army, Senator Ali Ndume.

Also, on Tuesday, the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, brought the attention of the Senate to the late former presidential aide, Ahmed Gulak, who he said was murdered while on national assignment in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Omo-Agege condemned the killing of Gulak, who he said was one of the consultants hired by the Senate Committee on Constitution Review to work on the amendments being sought by Nigerians to the 1999 Constitution.

Based on the DSP’s request, the Senate condemned the killing and observed a one minute silence in his honour.
