
The Rotary Club of Iponri, District 9112, Lagos, has expressed its readiness to continue to support worthy causes in the society in line with the vision and the seven areas of focus of Rotary International (RI).

According to Rotn. Ademola Akinbola, the club’s President, Rotary Club of Iponri has over the years established a track record of implementing projects geared towards the development of the society. Some of its projects include the annual support for traders in Iponri, donation of eye glasses to students of Gbaja Boys Secondary School, Surulere, donation of birthing kits to Gbaja Mother and Child Hospital, support for PolioPlus immunisation, etc.
Akinbola spoke during the visit of the District Governor of District 9112, Rotn. Lanre Adedoyin to the club. He assured the District Governor that Rotary Club of Iponri will continue to partner with the district to actualise the theme and goals of Rotary International.

Rotn Adedoyin commended the leaders and members of Rotary Club of Iponri for their outstanding contributions to Rotary, noting that several members of the club have risen to leadership positions in the District. He called on the club to maintain the momentum and continue to implement purposeful and impactful projects, while also supporting the District’s goals and objectives.
According to Rotn Adedoyin, the visit was a testimony to the strong partnership between the District and the Club. He expressed optimism that there would be room for more collaboration
The Rotary Club of Iponri has consistently demonstrated its commitment to Rotary’s ideals of service, fellowship, and leadership. With its rich history and outstanding performance over the years, the club serves as a model for other clubs in the District. The DG’s visit reinforces the importance of teamwork and collaboration in achieving Rotary’s goals.
At the event, Rotary Club of Iponri presented a cheque of N1m to traders under its Micro Credit Scheme for Traders in Iponri market. Two new members were inducted into the club in order to strengthen its membership base.
