The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has suspended its five-day nationwide warning strike.

The suspension was announced on Saturday night, with the association directing members to resume work on Sunday, September 14.

NARD had declared the strike on Friday to press for improved welfare and working conditions.

Confirming the suspension, NARD President, Dr. Tope Osundara, said some of the doctors’ demands had been met while the government had assured that other issues would be addressed.

“Some of our demands have been met, and the government has promised to look into other issues. Strike suspended; resumption to work tomorrow (today). We did this as a sign of goodwill and to assist Nigerians who are seeking healthcare in our various facilities,” Osundara said.
