A new group has been unveiled to mobilize national and international support for the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential elections.
The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Progressives Support Group (BAT-PSG) is positioned to complement the efforts of the Tinubu Campaign Organisation in ensuring that all loyalists and supporters of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu work together for his victory before and during the presidential elections.
Addressing newsmen in Lagos, Mr. Clement Adefulire, National Coordinator of BAT-PSG, and Mr. Ademola Akinbola, the National Publicity Secretary, disclosed that the group is already liaising with progressive professionals at home and in the Diaspora to elicit their moral, financial, and spiritual support for Asiwaju Tinubu.
Adefulire, a renowned Chartered accountant and a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, added: “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the man Nigeria needs at this crucial moment. With his pedigree and track record of impeccable performance as the Governor of Lagos State, we are convinced beyond any iota of doubt that he will turn the fortunes of Nigeria around for good if elected in 2023. He is the most prepared and experienced with a clear agenda of how he will revive the comatose economy of the country. His landslide victory at the APC primaries is an indication of his national acceptance, and it symbolizes the fact that the APC realized that he is the man that can do the job”.
The national coordinator called on all well-meaning Nigerian professionals to rally behind Tinubu who he said has a track record of identifying talented and skillful professionals irrespective of their tribe, and entrusting them with huge responsibilities. “Tinubu is the most detribalized Nigerian politician that lives. We cannot forget in a hurry the way he hunted for talents all over the world and appointed them into his cabinet. Asiwaju Tinubu’s broad-mindedness and liberal politics are responsible for the emergence of several hitherto political neophytes on the centre stage of Nigerian politics. The sitting Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and many others are products of the Tinubu school of liberal politics. That is the man we need in Nigeria”, Adefulire added.
Mr. Adefulire called on Nigerian professionals to stop sitting on the fence and get actively involved in politics. “You can’t change any system unless you are an integral part of the system. We have had enough of social media politics. We have had enough of grandiloquence. Let us all show more than a passing interest in the politics of our country. We have a lot to contribute as professionals, but we cannot change the system unless we get involved”, he noted.
Adefulire disclosed that BAT-PSG has already commenced consultations with other Tinubu Support Groups to achieve synergy. “We are all working towards the same goal. We should work together and complement each other. Our principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given the nation his best; now, it is our turn to give him our best. We will soon begin a series of activities aimed at shoring up support for him. We are putting structures in place in all parts of the country to have a strong national base. We are also setting up structures in the UK, EU, USA, Canada, and South Africa”, he added.
