According to the Police, intelligence indicated that the group had finalised plans to unveil a N1.5 billion “Palace of the Obi of Lagos State” at Apple Hall, Amuwo Odofin, on Saturday, September 13.

Acting on this information, police promptly sealed off the venue to prevent the event and safeguard members of the public from being misled.

DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, said the police deployed “adequate manpower, including conventional operatives, Eko Strike Force teams, and other tactical squads” to ensure the ceremony did not take place and to maintain public order.
