Senator Sharafadeen Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his private residence in Ikoyi, Lagos. According to Ireporter Online, the meeting took place in the evening and was part of the President’s ongoing political consultations while observing the Easter holiday in the state.
While details of their discussion were not disclosed, the visit has stirred political interest amid growing conversations surrounding the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State. Reports indicate that Alli is being considered as a possible consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the forthcoming gubernatorial race.
The development comes shortly after the senator was reportedly elevated to the status of a crown-wearing Oba by the Oyo State Government, alongside prominent Ibadan chiefs, including Bolaji Adewoyin and Kola Babalola. The move followed the government’s decision to accord certain traditional title holders royal recognition within the Ibadan chieftaincy system.

Images from the visit, which surfaced on social media, captured what appeared to be a cordial interaction between the senator and the President at the Ikoyi residence. The meeting adds to a series of high-level political engagements held by Tinubu during his stay in Lagos for the Easter break.
