The All Progressive Congress is gearing up for next Monday’s national convention where the flag bearer of the party would be picked.
The aspirants that are seeking the party’s ticket have been trimmed to 13 following the screening exercises that were held ahead of the presidential primaries.
Some of the aspirants that scaled through the screening include the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Tinubu, current vice president Yemi Osibanjo, former Rivers state governor Rotimi Amaechi as well as 10 others.
Reacting on the development, popular Nigerian broadcaster and multiple awards winning journalist, Babajide Kolade-otitoju has claimed that only two aspirants in the APC are capable of defeating Atiku Abubakar.
Babajide while speaking during today’s edition of Issues With Jide, said outside the two aspirants, Atiku would win the Presidency.
According to Babajide, if the ruling party desire to retain the presidency, they must pick a popular candidate that is accepted by all. He also cautions the party against opting for a consensus candidate.
