Residents of Mosafejo in Ojo Local Government have uncovered a warehouse where expired drugs were being repackaged for sale. Concerned community members noticed suspicious activities and immediately reported the matter to the Ojo Police Station.
Following the report, the DPO of Ojo and *the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, visited the warehouse to assess the situation and ensure proper investigation.
The building used for the illegal activity is said to belong to Eze Nkpado Olu of Imo State, a traditional ruler. The structure is a 15-block of flats. It was also gathered that the owner allegedly chased the tenants away about 15 years ago, claiming he intended to convert the building into a hotel. Residents noted that tiles and some building materials were stored on the first floor, while the other section was allegedly used for the illegal operation.
Only the security guard on duty was arrested at the scene as investigations continue to identify other suspects connected to the act.
The Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Muhibat Titilola Rufai, also accompanied the DPO of Ojo and the CP of Lagos to visit the scene. She condemned the act, praised residents for their vigilance and reassured the community that the government will support security agencies to ensure justice is served.
The warehouse has since been sealed while investigations continue.
