Hon. Tunde Azeez ‘Disco’ has voluntarily resigned his position as the chairman of Agege Local Government.

He hinged his decision on his protracted health challenges that had kept him away from his duty post for several months.

He announced his resignation in a letter sent to the council legislative arm.

The house acknowledged Hon. Tunde Azeez Disco’s dedication to public service and wished him well in his future endeavors.

His resignation, tendered due to his health status, underscores the importance of prioritizing one’s health and well-being.

After thorough deliberation, the house unanimously passed a resolution accepting his resignation letter with immediately effect.

This development paves the way for a new leadership structure, ensuring the council’s continued commitment to effective governance and community service.

Following the acceptance of the resignation, the house unanimously approved Hon. AbdulGaniyu Vinod Obasa as the substantive Chairman of Agege Local Government. Vinod is until today the vice chairman of the council who acted in ailing Hon. Azeez’ stead for several months. He is the son of the hardworking speaker of the Lagos state house of assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

This decision underscores the council’s dedication to seamless governance and leadership continuity.
