Rehoboth means:

  • A place of dominion
  • A place of Fulfillment
  • A place of Achievement
  • A place of Increase
  • A place of God providing opportunities for success
  • A place where your struggles and tensions end
  • A space or a room for exploits.

EXHORTATION

  • Text Genesis 26 v 1 – 22
  1. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SEASONS OF PLENTY AND SCARCITY.

  • Genesis 41 v 29  – 31

v.29 “Indeed seven years of great plenty will come throughout all the land of Egypt;”

 v.30 “but after them seven years of famine will arise, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine will deplete the land.”

v. 31 “So the plenty will not be known in the land because of the famine following, for it will be very severe.”

3. DURING FAMINE IN THE LAND, FOLLOW GOD, DON’T FOLLOW THE CROWD.

  • Follow God, don’t follow the crowd if you want to get to your Rehoboth.
  • Your destiny is in your uniqueness and originality.
  • You can’t make a difference until you are different.
  • Don’t follow the crowd to mess up and bury your destiny.
  • Don’t rely on human beings.

Man can change.

Man can fail.

Man can die but God cannot.

1 Cor. 2 v 5

That your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

  • If you look up to God, you will go up. If you look down to man, you will go down. If you look around, you will be hanging around.
  • Cling unto god tenaciously to get to your Rehoboth.

4. ON YOUR JOURNEY TO REHOBOTH, DON’T GIVE UP TOO SOON.

Genesis 26 v 18 – 23

v.18 “And Isaac dug again the wells of water which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father, for the Philistines had stopped them up after the death of Abraham. He called them by the names which his father had called them.”

v.19 “Also Isaac’s servants dug in the valley, and found a well of running water there.”

v.20 “But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac’s herdsmen, saying, “The water is ours.” So he called the name of the well [c]Esek, because they quarreled with him.”

v. 21 “Then they dug another well, and they quarreled over that one also. So he called its name Sitnah.”

v. 22 “And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, because he said, “For now the Lord has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.”

v.23 “Then he went up from there to Beersheba.”

  • Isaac didn’t give up after the first two wells were taken by the herdmen of Gerar at Esek and Sitnah.
  • He kept digging until he found a well that brought fulfillment at Rehoboth meaning “FOR THE LORD HAD MADE ROOM FOR US AND WE SHALL BE FRUITFUL IN THE LAND”
  • Be persistent.
  • Be dogged.
  • Be resilient.
  • Be tenacious.
  • Don’t give up too soon.
  • Keep trying.
  • Make another move.
  • You will succeed in Jesus name.

5. ACKNOWLEDGE GOD AS THE ONE WHO IS LEADING YOU TO YOUR REHOBOTH.

Genesis 26 v 22

“And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, because he said, “For now the Lord has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.”

  • Always celebrate God’s provisions and favour in your life.
  • In all your achievement, announce Him as your enabler.

Isaiah 42 v 8

“I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another,

Nor My praise to carved images.”

Romans 11 v 36

“For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.”

  • God cannot share His glory with anyone.

6. WALK IN COVENANT WITH GOD TO GET TO YOUR REHOBOTH.

Psalm 105 v 8

“He remembers His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations”

Psalm 74 v 20

“Have respect to the covenant; For the dark places of the earth are full of the haunts of cruelty.”

  • The Covenant between you and God will distinguish you during famine and on your journey to your Rehoboth
  • Covenant is a relationship of mutual trust and commitment.
  • Trust God for God to trust you.
  • Covenant involves surrender of life and your life’s resources.

7. CHARACTERISTICS OF REHOBOTH ANOINTING.

Matthew 11 v 28 – 30

v.28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. “

v.29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am [f]gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

v.30 “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

1. Rehoboth anointing brings you rest from your labour and struggles.

2. It terminates strifes, struggles and chains of problems and challenges.

3. It creates opportunities for success and breakthrough beyond measures.

4. It confers on you the oil for divine intervention and divine connections.

5. It enables you to have encounter with God at your critical times

6. It makes your enemies to come and apologize to you after God has done you well.

7. It makes you to break new ground for  humongous expansion and enlargement.

8. It is an anointing of good tidings/news.

9. It is an anointing of celebration rejoicing and feasting

10. It is an anointing that overcomes stubborn pursuers and brutal adversaries.

11. It is an anointing of ‘God has done it for me at last’ and ‘victory at last’.

12. It is an anointing that silences those mocking your efforts and despising you.

13. It is an anointing that perfumes your destiny with sweet success fragrance

14. It is an anointing that makes you to call the shots and be in control gallantly.

15. It is an anointing that makes people respect ,celebrate and appreciate your God.
