He said they were responsible for the tragedies that occurred in these states,”

In an audio message circulating online, he refuted claims made by Musa Kamara, a former government-appointed peace mediator, describing the alleged payment as false.

“By Allah, since I was born, I have never possessed even five million naira,” Turji said. “What I am doing is not for personal gain. We were never given that ₦30 million you are talking about.”

Bello Turji described his meeting with Zamfara State officials as part of a broader peace initiative, emphasizing that he did not receive any personal financial gain from the engagement. He criticized Musa Kamara, a former government-appointed mediator, for allegedly providing “false testimony” and undermining the trust that had been built during the negotiations.

He spoke of how they were holding peace meetings with Zamfara officials spareheaded by Kamara

“We reached an understanding for peace when the Zamfara State government appointed you,” Turji said. “What you are claiming now is entirely untrue. I did not receive even three million naira.”

Turji further pointed fingers at former political leaders in Zamfara and Sokoto states, accusing them of contributing to regional unrest.
