The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Kuwait has advised Nigerian nationals residing in Kuwait and Bahrain to remain vigilant and adhere strictly to safety guidelines issued by host authorities amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
In a circular dated March 1, the Embassy urged Nigerians in both countries to stay calm and monitor official announcements from the Kuwaiti and Bahraini governments.
“In view of the prevailing circumstances in the region, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the State of Kuwait with concurrent accreditation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, wishes to advise all Nigerian nationals in both countries to remain vigilant, observe safety guidelines, advisories from the host (official) governments, and remain calm at all times,” the circular read.

The Embassy further encouraged nationals to keep track of local news and official government communications, noting that it is closely monitoring developments and maintaining contact with community leaders.
“The Embassy is closely monitoring the situation and is in close contact with the leadership of the various communities,” it added.
To ensure seamless communication, the mission announced the creation of a dedicated mobile and WhatsApp line for inquiries and updates. The advisory comes amid reports that on February 28, the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iranian leadership and military targets in operations reportedly named Operation Epic Fury and Operation Raging Lion.
The strikes targeted naval bases, air defence systems and government facilities in Tehran and other cities, prompting retaliatory missile and drone attacks by Iran on Israel and U.S. military bases across the Middle East.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was also reported to have moved to close the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil shipping route, raising concerns over potential disruptions to global energy supplies.
There have also been reports of the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a development that could further destabilise the region.
Against this backdrop, the Nigeria Police Force has reassured Nigerians at home of sustained security vigilance, warning that the country will not be allowed to become a theatre for foreign conflicts and affirming its commitment to maintaining national security.
