At the party, they were said to have consumed rice, wine, and a drink known as Calypso, which were reportedly provided by the movie’s director.
One source said the director retired early to bed but woke up during the night to switch the power supply from a generator to the public grid.
At that point, he discovered two guests had died, while two others were found in critical condition.
A Facebook user, Kaito Karisia, shared details of the incident online and noted that the two surviving victims, both men, are receiving treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Owerri.
Confirming the incident, Police spokesperson Henry Okoye said the command was treating the case as a suspected unnatural death and had launched an investigation.

He added that the movie director and three women who were also at the party had been arrested.
Commissioner of Police Aboki Danjuma has ordered autopsies on the deceased to determine the exact cause of death.
The police assured the public that the investigation would be thorough and that findings would guide the next steps.
