The Minister of Youth and Development, Ayodele Olawande, on Tuesday, paid a brief but memorable visit to the National Youth Service Corps Permanent Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, where he interacted with corps members of the 2025 Batch B Stream II.

Olawande, who was received by the NYSC Anambra State Coordinator, Pauline Ojisua, was in the state for an official project inspection.
He said his trip would not have been complete without meeting the corps members, describing them as “the pride and strength of the nation”.

Despite a light downpour, the minister was received with full camp honours at the Quarter Guard, followed by the singing of the Nigerian, NYSC, and Anambra State anthems.
In his remarks, the minister said, “We commend the corps members for their discipline, patriotism, and dedication to national development through the NYSC scheme.
“We urged you to continue being exemplary ambassadors of unity and service wherever they are posted.”
Olawande, who was accompanied by the Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Agha Mba, thanked the state coordinator, camp officials, and corps members for their warm reception.
He also donated a cow to the corps member ahead of their upcoming camp carnival on Saturday.
“As a gesture of goodwill, I donate a cow to you ahead of your upcoming camp carnival celebration on Saturday,” he added.
The visit concluded with three hearty cheers from the corps members in appreciation of the Minister’s visit and generosity as a Guard of Honour mounted at the Quarter Guard.
