EXHORTATION
1. GOD IS THE CUSTODIAN OF MERCY
• Romans 9 v 14 – 18
v.14 “What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God
forbid.”
v.15 “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”
v.16 “ So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of
God that sheweth mercy.”5
v.17 “ For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose
have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my
name might be declared throughout all the earth.”
v.18 “Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he
will he hardeneth.”
• God dispenses Mercy as He wills.
• He is the one to look up unto for Mercy
• That is why He is called the Merciful God.
• Without His Mercy, no one can achieve anything in life.
• No matter how gifted you are, results, achievement, success can only be got via the
Mercy of God.
• Eccl. 9 v 11
“I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the
battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of
understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance
happeneth to them all.”
• If success in life is by hard work alone, those breaking rocks will be extremely
successful.
• If it is by Academic Prowess, many professors will be swimming in affluence.
• If it is by Human Efforts, those with brilliant ideas and know how will be jubilating
always.
• If living long is by wealth acquisition, wealthy people will live forever and the poor
dying anyhow.
• If being successful in any field is by your Talents/Anointing alone, one will be
boastful of his strength daily.
• But the Bible has stated it expressly that it is not of him that runneth nor of him
that willeth but of the Lord that shows mercy.6
• The same road you travelled and came back successfully swallowed others. Your
survival is not a function of your car or expertise, it is by the mercy of God.
• If anything is good, it is God that has made it good by His Mercy.
• I have seen people with opportunities dying without leaving legacies.
• I have seen non-entities/written off people doing exploits by God’s Mercy
• I have seen many people on top being brought down.
• I have seen many downtrodden people being lifted up by God’s Mercy
• Your Marital throne, Financial, Future throne can only be guaranteed by the Mercy
of God.

2. YOU CAN BE REVIVED AND RESTORED BY THE
MERCY OF GOD

“O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.”

“ For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy.
Mercy triumphs over judgment.”

v.1 “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving-kindness:
according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my

• No matter how terrible your sin may be. No matter how terrible your past may be,
God in the multitude of his tender mercies will forgive you and blot them out making
a new man out of you.

• The armed robber, drug addict, harlots, never do well today can become great
tomorrow by mercy of God.

• Mercy of God can give you uncommon favour.
• Mercy of God will preserve you until calamities are over.
• Mercy of God offers security against Attacks, Robbery, Assassination and
Accident.
• Mercy of God will prevent you from being swallowed up.
• Mercy of God delivers you from oppressions.8
3. YOU CAN BE PRESERVED AND SECURED BY THE
MERCY OF GOD
• Psalm 57 v 1 – 3
v.1 “Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth
in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these
calamities be overpast.”9
v.2 “I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for
me.”
v.3 “He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that
would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.”
• Mercy of God will preserve you until calamities are over in Jesus name.
• Mercy of God will prevent you from being swallowed up.
• Mercy of God offers security against Attacks, Robbery, Assassination and
Accident.
• Mercy of God delivers you from Oppressions.
• Having done all and failed or advance a little, Mercy grants us access to God on His
mercy seat for a turn around.
4. A CRY FOR GOD’S MERCY AT THE CROSS ROAD
YIELDS MIRACLES
• Psalm 107 v 23 – 30
v.23”They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great
waters;”
v.24 “These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.”
v.25 “For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up
the waves thereof.”10
v.26 “They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their
soul is melted because of trouble.”
v.27 “They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their
wits’ end.”
v.28 “Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them
out of their distresses.”
v.29 “He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.”
v.30 “Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto
their desired haven.”
• A cry for God’s mercy provokes sudden miracles.
• At critical points when you are saying:
o O! Lord why me; cry for mercy.
o O! Lord I cannot go further; cry for mercy.
o O! Lord prove yourself that you are there, cry for mercy.
o O! Lord do something now or your name will be reproached, cry for mercy.
o O! Lord which way out, make a way fast, cry for mercy.
o O! Lord can my dry bones live again?, cry for mercy.
o O! Lord don’t be looking/watching me like this, cry for mercy.
o O! Lord what must I do again?, cry for mercy.
o O! Lord I have no strength to go further, cry for mercy
o O! Lord why are you silent?, cry for mercy.
5. APPROACH THE THRONE OF GRACE TO OBTAIN
MERCY
• Hebrew 4 v 14 – 16
v.14 “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the
heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.”
v.15 “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the
feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet
without sin.”
v.16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may
obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”11
• God releases His mercy whenever you approach his throne of Grace.
• Approaching the throne of Grace makes:
1. The Gates of Mercy to open unto you.
2. The Doors of Mercy to open unto you.
3. The Rain of Mercy to fall on you.
4. The Dew of Mercy to pour on you.
5. The Wind of Mercy to blow unto you.
6. The Atmosphere of Mercy to cover you.
7. The Mantle of Mercy to fall on you.
8. The Keys of Mercy be given unto you.
9. The Angels of Mercy to surround you always.
10.The Messengers of Mercy to visit you.
6. THE MERCY OF GOD FIGHTS ON YOUR BEHALF
• Psalm 143 v 12
“And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my
soul: for I am thy servant.”
• As God shows you mercy, He judges your adversaries by his sovereign power.
• The Mercy of God is a mysterious weapon, a double edged sword.
• May the Mercy of God fight on your behalf in Jesus name.12
7. A PRAYER OF DESPERATION MUST BE PRECEEDED BY
THE PRAYER OF MERCY
• Mark 10 v 46 – 48
v.46”And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his
disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of
Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.”
v.47 “And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out,
and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.”
v.48 “And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried
the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.”
• Blind Bartimaeus cried for Mercy and received his miracle.
• Whenever you are desperate; prayers of Mercy will help you out.
• As you cry unto God for Mercy today on that matter, your miracles shall be released in
Jesus name.
8. GOD IS RICH IN MERCY
• Ephesian 2 v 4
“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,”
• Psalm 111 v 4
“He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is
gracious and full of compassion.”

“Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy

• Mercy of God can break protocols for you.
• Mercy of God terminates endless struggles.13
• Mercy of God can locate you anywhere.
• Mercy of God can single you out for an uncommon miracle.
• Mercy of God can upgrade and promote your destiny.
• Mercy of God brings you a complete turn-around.
• Mercy of God puts the enemies to shame & disgraces them.
• Mercy of God changes people’s negative opinions about you.
• Mercy of God transforms your glory.
• Mercy of God can settle your long time problems.
• Mercy of God makes you sing new songs.
• Mercy of God brings you your expected end.
• Mercy of God facilitates your Testimonies.
• Mercy of God makes you to be celebrated in life.
• Mercy of God bails you out in your critical moments.
• Mercy of God enables you overcome long time problems.
• Mercy of God makes you a champion in life.
9. YOU NEED THE GREAT MERCY OF GOD
• 2 Chr. 1 v 8
“And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David
my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.” (KJV)
“Solomon answered, “You were extravagantly generous with David my
father, and now you have made me king in his place.” (MSG)
• Psalm 86 v 12
“I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy
name for evermore.”
• Psalm 57 v 10
“For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.”
• Psalm 103 v 11
“For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward
them that fear him.”14
• Great is the mercy of God, our God is rich in mercy, He is going to visit your case
today in Jesus name.
• I pray for you, wherever God directs you, His great mercy will accompany you in
Jesus name.
• As you procure that visa letter, you need the mercy of God to succeed.
• With your anointing you need the mercy of God to achieve good success, it is the
mercy of God that breaths His grace over you. I pray that the Grace of God will rest
upon your anointing in Jesus name.
WHEN DO YOU NEED THE GREAT MERCY OF GOD
1. When you are in a complete mess
2. When it seems your vision is bigger than you.
3. When you are below the ground level on any matter.
4. When you are an executive beggar.(Educated but begging to survive)
5. When you have been totally condemned in the court of man, in fact they have said
nothing good will come out of your Nazareth.
6. When all hope seems lost and you feel like giving up, in fact you are suicidal now,
don’t be discouraged, the great mercy of God will locate you in Jesus name.
7. When no man can answer your questions.
8. When you are frustrated beyond description, in fact you cannot describe it. Your
frustration is killing, shocking, stifling, chocking, unexplainable, embarrassing,
messy and even challenging your salvation.
9. When you are swimming in the ocean of failure and embarrassment
10. When men lied against you and no one believes you.
11. When you get demoted, instead of being promoted.
12. When everything around you fails.
13. When you are to meet an important deadline and your strength is failing. i.e
deadline panic.
14. When it seems age is no longer on your side.
15. When it seem eyes are not on you anymore, people don’t fancy you anymore.
16. When all your agemates have achieved and you are left behind.
17. When people are saying nothing good can happen to you.
18. When you are desperate to take a foolish step because of frustration.
19. When you have been written off by friends, family and close allies.
20. When you feel no helper can locate you.
