Parents and teachers at St. James Anglican Primary School, Iperu Remo, Ogun State, have hailed the empowerment efforts of Mr. Gbenga Saka, Special Assistant to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, describing him as a beacon of hope for indigent and vulnerable families in the state.

Saka, a native of Ilisan-Remo and son of the late Engr. Adebayo Saka—a respected politician and administrator during the military era—donated hundreds of school uniforms to pupils of St. James Anglican Primary School, which is also the alma mater of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The initiative, according to Saka, is part of his personal commitment to giving back to the community and easing parents’ financial burden as the new academic year approaches.

“This gesture is aimed at assisting parents to ease academic financial burden ahead of the new academic year. It is my own way of giving back to the society that made me,” he said.
The donation aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and recent directive to ensure the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots.
In response, the school’s principal, staff, and parents lauded Saka’s continued support, describing him as a grassroots politician who remains connected to his roots despite his busy schedule in Abuja.
“The burden for new school uniforms has been completely taken off from our heads,” a grateful parent said, praying for Saka’s success in his current role.
This is not Saka’s first act of generosity. He has previously donated educational materials, including writing pads, desks, benches, and cash to support schools in Ilisan, Remo, and Odogbolu, reaffirming his dedication to improving access to quality education in his home communities.

Saka pledged to continue his support, emphasizing his belief in the importance of giving back to one’s roots.
