Kekemeke Returns as APC South-West Zonal Chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has re-elected Isaac Kekemeke as its South-West Zonal Chairman, following a consensus arrangement at the party’s zonal congress held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Stadium, Lagos.

The congress, which party leaders described as rancor-free and historic, produced Kekemeke alongside seven other zonal executive members unopposed.

The newly elected officials include Alfred Aluko (Secretary), Ismail Majaro (Legal Adviser), Lateef Ibirogba (Organising Secretary), Ayobami Afolabi (Publicity Secretary), Oyetunde Adesanya (Woman Leader), Daramola Adesuyi (Youth Leader), and Dayo Ishola (Persons With Disability).

Chairman of the Zonal Congress Committee, Jide Jimoh, announced that 1,398 delegates from the six South-West states were accredited, commending their patience and loyalty to the party.
Speaking on behalf of South-West governors, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos hailed the congress as “an example for emulation nationwide,” expressing confidence that the new team would lead APC to victory in the 2027 elections.
Responding, Kekemeke thanked party leaders for the trust reposed in him and pledged to deliver victory for APC in upcoming gubernatorial elections in Ekiti and Osun, while strengthening the party’s structures across the zone.
The congress drew attendance from governors, former governors, senators, members of the National Assembly, and other APC stakeholders, reinforcing the South-West’s strategic role in the party’s national outlook.
