Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde popularly known as K1 has reacted to criticisms that he disrespected a popular Monarch, the Oluwo of Iwo.
K1 in a video trending online was seen exchanging banters with the king in a manner many have described as uncultured, untraditional, uncouth, and disrespectful.
In the video, K1 was seen using the word, ‘o’ for the monarch, a word used widely in Yoruba land for someone who’s your peer or younger. He was also seen shaking hands with the king, an act considered to be disrespectful in Yoruba land.

Critics are of the opinion that even if K1 is older than Oluwo of Iwo, he ought to respect the stool and the traditional institution which Oluwo represents.
Many argued that he would never try such a thing with the Ooni of Ife who recently clocked 47.
Meanwhile, while the heat of the criticism is getting hotter daily online, K1 seems to have developed a cold and thick skin towards criticism going by his post this morning on his Facebook timeline.
In the post, K1 believes he would always survive anything life throws at him sooner or later. Hear him: “Sometimes life will kick you around, but sooner or later, you realize you’re not just a survivor. “You’re a warrior, and you are stronger than anything life throws your way.”
K1, 64, is a famous musician with numerous musical hits to his name. He was recently installed as the Mayegun of Yoruba land by the Alaafin of Oyo. He is a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, and an ally of many political bigwigs.
