The revered monarch was crowned in 1981 and reigned for 44 years, during which he was widely respected for his commitment to peace, unity, and community development.

Confirming his death, Hon. Bamidele Salam, who represents Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, described the late monarch as a beacon of growth and harmony.

He extended condolences to the royal family, the people of Ofatedo, and the Osun State Traditional Council, urging them to take solace in the monarch’s enduring legacy.

According to the lawmaker, “Oba Abdulahi Okunloye Agunloye was not just a traditional ruler, but a father figure, a peacemaker, and a strong advocate for community development.
