One of the frontline first-class traditional rulers in Ondo State, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Olufaderin Oluwole Adetimehin, FIIN, FCIB, JP, Jimoko II, the Jegun Olu-Ekun and Paramount Ruler of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, will be hosting various activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his coronation from June 5 to June 14, 2026.
With the theme “A decade of purposeful kingship: peace, progress and the people”, the coronation anniversary is expected to attract Ile-Oluji indigenes from all over the world. The celebration kicks off on Friday, June 5, 2026, with a Jumaat Service at the Ile-Oluji Central Mosque, and continues on Monday, June 8, 2026, with a media interactive session at the Jegun of Ile-Oluji’s palace.
Other activities include: Inter-Street Football Competition, payment of homage to Kabiyesi by all District Heads, Obas, Olojas, and Baales; commissioning of projects by the Jegun-in-Council and distribution of Cocoa seedlings to farmers; variety night featuring dance and drama; dancing competition among primary school students, and a cultural attire competition.
The grand finale will be held on June 13, 2026, at the Civic Centre, while a Thanksgiving Service will be held at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Ile-Oluji, on June 14.
According to the Chairman of the Anniversary’s Central Planning Committee (CPC), Chief Sola Akinfemiwa, OON, the Aro of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, the last 10 years have witnessed massive transformation in Ile-Oluji Kingdom, with Jegun Olufaderin Adetimehin initiating various human development, economic revitalisation, and infrastructural renewal projects that have impacted the lives of the people positively.
“We have every cause to celebrate because God has been good to Ile-Oluji in several ways, especially with the ascendancy of Jegun Olufaderin Adetimehin in 2016. He has built on what his predecessors achieved while also spearheading revolutionary initiatives unprecedented in the history of the Ile-Oluji Kingdom. The people love Kabiyesi for his humane, progressive, and focused approach to community governance. That is why we are rolling out the drums to celebrate him and his groundbreaking achievements, he added.
