The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun on Thursday, 20th February, 2025, presided over the decoration of 19 senior police officers with their new ranks at the Goodluck Jonathan International Peacekeeping Centre, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the ceremony marked the promotion of three Commissioners of Police to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).
The newly-decorated AIGs are AIG Garba Ahmed, AIG Nemi Edwin Osigoboka Iwo, and AIG Salman Garba Dogo.

Additionally, sixteen Deputy Commissioners of Police were elevated to the rank of Commissioners of Police, including CP Cyriacus Enechukwu, CP Gombit Bangs, CP Rosemary Akpan, and CP Ayodele Adeyemi, among others.
Dignitaries present at the event included Prince Ma Sani-Omolori, former Clerk to the National Assembly; Mr. Nebeolisa Anako, former Permanent Secretary of the Police Service Commission; and DIG Valentine Ntomchukwu (Rtd.), alongside members of the Force Management Team, senior police officers, and the families of the promotees.
IGP Egbetokun commended the officers on their well-deserved promotions and charged them to uphold the principles of effective policing and national security.
He emphasized the need for professionalism, discipline, and adherence to the Rule of Law in executing their duties, as the Nigeria Police Force continues its efforts toward a safer and more secure nation.
