The Police on Tuesday arraigned a 41-year-old driver, Nurudeen Ogunbona, before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over alleged threat to the life of his former boss, Mr. Adedapo Lam-Adesina.

Ogunbona, whose residential address was not disclosed, is facing two counts of threat to life and breach of peace. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecuting counsel, Cpl. Akeem Akinloye, told the court that the defendant, in July, allegedly threatened Lam-Adesina by sending text messages and voice notes. He further alleged that Ogunbona conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by warning his boss that he would “deal with him.”

The offences were allegedly committed around 10:30 a.m. at Lam-Adesina’s residence in Alalubosa G.R.A., Ibadan.
Lam-Adesina represented Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives between 2015 and 2019 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Akinloye said the offences contravened Sections 86 and 249 (D) of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
Ruling on bail, Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi admitted Ogunbona to bail in the sum of ₦250,000 with two sureties in like sum, one of whom must be a blood relation.
The case was adjourned until December 8 for hearing.
