Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has dismissed claims that he is estranged from his children with his first wife, May Edochie, stating that he still maintains a close and active relationship with them.
Amid ongoing divorce proceedings between the former couple, reports had emerged suggesting that the actor had abandoned his children.

The legal process has reportedly faced delays due to disagreements over the terms of the marriage dissolution, including remarriage rights and allegations of adultery.
Yul Edochie emphasizes being in contact with his kids
Addressing the rumours during a recent podcast appearance, Edochie clarified that he remains involved in his children’s lives, keeps regular communication with them, and continues to support them financially.
He cited recent achievements, including one of his sons gaining admission into the university, as evidence of their ongoing relationship.
The actor also criticised social media narratives surrounding his family situation, describing them as speculative and disconnected from the realities of his private life.
According to him, many important details about family matters never make it to social media, despite widespread public interest.
Edochie further explained that his silence and absence of posts involving his children stem from a court order linked to the divorce case, which restricts public discussion or display of matters concerning the children for their safety.
He maintained that much of what circulates online about his family is exaggerated and does not reflect the true situation.

“I am in contact with my children. I have heard a lot of things. About people saying ‘he abandoned his children’
“My second son just got into the university months ago. He just did his matriculation a few days back. Infact, he told me a day before time, and I told him I was busy
“The people here on social media are just one per cent of the truth. The real things happening in people’s homes, the main issues, do not even come out on social media. The crux of my matter is not on social media.
“Everything people say are all speculations. Someone comes up with something and blows it out of proportion. And then they were waiting for me to come out and respond.
“People are so interested in knowing what is happening. And most of them are even having family problems. They have not solved their own problems; they want to know what is happening in another man’s.
“There is also a court order. There is a divorce case going on. That is why I cannot really speak. It says anything that has to do with the children, for their own safety, I should not post
“They said no more posting.”
