Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted five worshippers during an attack on a church in Uso community, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, throwing residents of the town, located along the Akure–Owo highway, into fear after the armed men invaded the church while a service was in progress.
According to sources within the community, the assailants stormed the worship centre and forcefully took away five congregants to an unknown destination.

It was learnt that one of the abductees later regained freedom after escaping from the captors shortly after the attack, although further details about the escape were still unclear.
At the time of filing this report, the name of the affected church and the condition of the remaining victims had yet to be confirmed.
Security authorities were yet to officially comment on the development as residents raised fresh concerns over insecurity in the area.
